Chef Janice will take us on a culinary journey to her homeland of Peru via traditional dishes with modern flair. Peru’s gastronomy boasts Spanish and Asian influences and has become a world-wide phenomenon with Peruvian restaurants popping up in every major city on the globe. Chef Janice will share her love for the cuisine that led her to becoming a Chef through a mix of hands-on and demonstration. Enjoy a pisco sour and fresh ceviche as we explore the flavors and ingredients of what is widely considered to be the original fusion food.

Classic CevicheTraditional from the coast of Peru and other Latin American countries. Fresh fish crudo, marinated in Leche de Tigre with citrus and aji (chilli), thinly sliced onions and cilantro.Causa LimeñaCold appetizer made with potato mash, citrus and yellow pepper. Layered with avocado and fish, seafood or chicken.Arroz con MariscosRice flavored with “aderezo”, made with onion, garlic and chili. Served with fresh seafood and “salsa criolla”, thinly sliced onions, cilantro and lime.Sweet treat included!

Chef Janice Mc Lauchlan is the newest team member at Zest & Bestlife Culinary.

Janice has a wealth of international culinary experience & hails from Peru, graduating form Le Cordon Bleu Peru with a degree in gastronomy and culinary arts.  Her passion for food shines through everything she does from pasta making and traditional Peruvian fair to pastries & desserts. She has been cooking for most of her life, starting at an early age with Sunday family gatherings focusing around good food & “chacota” – you can ask her what this means when you meet her!
